CUSCO

Cusco was the capital city of the Inca empire. Many of the original Inca structures were destroyed upon the Spanish arrival, but remnants of the ancient capital still exist scattered throughout the city.

Ollantaytambo

Ollantaytambo is also located in the Sacred Valley region. Placed at the point of convergence of three separate valleys, the village provided a strategic gateway to the surrounding villages, including Cusco, Pisac, and Machu Picchu.

Pisac Ruins & Misc. Sacred Valley

The Pisac Ruins are located in the region known as the "Sacred Valley." This small village was used to not only provide food to the capital city of Cusco, but also used to experiment with growing crops at various elevations utilizing terraces. Information gathered here would be distributed and spread to the surrounding villages. In this gallery, you will also find additional photos from around Sacred Valley.

Machu Picchu

The one, the only Machu Picchu. As one of the "New 7 Wonders of the World," Machu Picchu is absolutely stunning. The village was never found by the Spanish, leaving the town in near-perfect condition. The surrounding mountains provide a spectacular backdrop that will leave you speechless. Photos can't do an area like this justice, but within this gallery is my best attempt. Enjoy

Amazon Rainforest

My brief stay in the Amazon Rainforest is one I will never forget. The forest is called home by countless species of plants and animals.  1.5 days is simply not long enough to even scratch the surface of seeing everything the forest offers.
